Happy Holidays

Hello to all you race fans and supporters of me. 2008 has been quite a year and season to say the least. The start of the season looked promising as most of the year did as a whole. The World title was well within reach for ¾ of the season however a few off scores really hit me hard in the point standings. I still managed 4th overall after narrowly losing the bronze medal to Tomasz Gollob in the last round. What can I say? That’s racing but it really sucks sometimes! Ha Ha!

My league racing was probably the best ever and I am pretty satisfied with that. It gives me lots of inspiration for the Grand Prix as well. Being in a team that has potential is the key. Whether it be good riders or just ambitious team members, you can successful in so many ways. We proved that in Rospiggarna the most. We were marked as a team fighting for relegation for most of the season and look at our final result. Not too bad. We really worked great as a team and in the end, inconsistency let us down but we were in the play offs and that was our #1 Goal for 2008 and we did it. Czestochowa was another story. We had a team of strong riders and then some injuries etc lost it for us at the end. That was a real shame as we were tipped to win the title there. Bummer!

There were some real controversial moments with the GP towards the later part of the year as most of you know. I like many of you am still quite disappointed about the situation of Gelsenkirchen as we have not been given any real apologies for what happened there. Odd! Oh well, it just cost all of us a lot of money for nothing and we are very upset about that. Lets hope they can get it all fixed for 2009 anyway. The riders are working hard behind the scenes to get a better working relationship with the FIM and IMG/BSI in order to have more input on some situations. We are hopeful of that too.

Now it’s the winter and the holidays are here. I am back home in California enjoying life with all my family and friends. It always nice to get a break from the racing but in the back of my mind, the new season is right around the corner and I will be more than ready for that. I will take the opportunity to say “Thank You” again for all your support throughout the year and look forward to an even better year in 2009. I am pretty positive about it and I hope you are too. I would also like to thank David Green for all his work and efforts on the website and I hope you will like the new site and all its cool new areas to get involved in. I cant wait to share lots of info etc with you in Club 45. Check it out when it launches.

Take it easy and Happy Holidays.

Greg
