Darren and Sharon Boocock

I would like to express my respects to the whole Boocock Family for the terrible loss of Darren and Sharon Boocock. I like many others am still in complete shock about the fatal accident that cost them both their lives. Darren was like a big brother to me and together with Sharon they became my UK family as well. I knew Darren since I was about 14 years old when he used to travel through LA on his way to and from Australia as a boy. We quickly became friends but he became my big brother when I began my career in the UK in 1989. He showed me how to survive in the UK after leaving home at a ripe age of 18. We had great times together and my wife and I will miss him like crazy. Wilbur and Bill will all miss their Uncle Darren and Auntie Sharon (as they referred to them)! Rest in Peace!

I have a small break from the racing right now due to the World Cup. The USA did not qualify for the competition this year which is a pity but hopefully it will be the last time that happens as we seem to really have some future riders coming through now. It has been a long time since the USA was a dominating country in the Team events but I remember the good days and look forward those again. The GP has been getting better and better as well. I have the World title within reach and will continue to climb the ladder in all efforts to become the World Champion again. Thank you once again for the great support in Cardiff and I look forward to bigger and better results throughout the rest of the season. Both Rospiggarna and Czestochowa have been holding great form as well. I remain convinced that we can push all the way to the finals and go for GOLD. What more is there in sport?? Thank you all for you support! Greg
