Hey Everyone
Its been a pretty good run these last 2 GP's and moving back up the ladder a little as well. Gothenburg was definitely one to forget so we won't even go there. Lets step it up to Copenhagen instead and look at the positives. I must admit that the heats did not go great but the cards played out in my favor and I got a shot at the semi and then made it count. In the final, I made another dreadful start but the hard work with bike set up proved good and I muscled my way from last to 2nd. I don't think I really made a start all night. I had been feeling rough with a bad cold for the 2 weeks prior to that GP so I may have been a little low on energy and stamina so I will take that as my excuse this time!! :) On the following Sunday, I did not ride in Poland for unposted reasons but many of you may have read that my dad was sick and that is definitely not true. It was part in parcel due to a dispute with my club along with other reasons as well. That also included me missing the meeting in Sweden on the following Tuesday as well. I hate to miss races for any of my clubs so for me this was a tough call. Anyway, all is well and I am back in action. After a stint of antibiotics too so I am finally feeling well again.
Rospiggarna has made a few changes to the team line up lately and we welcome the presence of Sebastian Ulamek as well as having Travis Mcgowan back too. The last 2 meetings have been much more positive for the club especially the last one in Mallila. We lost buy 2 points only and that was mostly due to my performance. I really struggled with my bikes that night and we were testing 2 engines for the upcoming GP there too. Not a good test at all. Back to the drawing board as they say. In Poland, its a different story as we have now straightened out our disputes and got things back on track again. I really hope it will stay this way for the rest of the season. We had a great meeting last week against Torun (The Title Favourites) and we were the first to beat them this season. That was awesome. Czestochowa are now sitting in a good position for the play offs. Its a long way to go but we are feeling confident.
This last GP in Cardiff was another step up. I did not win a heat until late in the night after a lot of playing to get hte perfect set up on the bike. I felt that we had achieved that and I then won the semi after a few restarts. The heat started to take its tole on the engine and I felt that I was actually losing a little power in the last 2 laps of the semi. Nevertheless I did not want to jeopardise anything and stuck with the same bike. When the tapes went up in the final I knew there was something wrong as the bike was not as aggressive as it was in the last couple of heats. Then a lack of defensive riding caused me to lose the podium place. I guess I got a little complacent just holding and hoping with the slowing bike every lap. Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that was that and I ended up with 14 points again moving me up to 3rd overall in table. Still a long way to go and I am more than determined to make a difference in the 2nd half for the series. Thank you to all of you for your support and expecially in Cardiff once again. See ya soon!
Pop Wheelies!
