Gold in Auburn

Greg continued his pursit of a record breaking 8th USA Speedway National Championship with a win at Auburn Friday Night.  Greg started out with 3 wins. In his fourth outing against defending National Champion Billy Janniro, after 3 laps in the lead Greg's chain broke causing him to crash. With zero points from that outing, Greg needed a win in his final heat to make the A Main.

In the A Main, Greg didn't make the start but quickly caught Billy Janniro and in an epic battle was able to pass him and secure the win. This leaves Greg 4 points clear of Billy in the quest for his 8th Championship. The final round is October 2 in Auburn.
