Greg capped a solid performance with a start to finish victory in the final in Daugavpils. Greg finished the heats joint leader with Tomasz Gollob on 11 points. Greg was seeded 2nd and 1st in the second semi final. The second semi had the look of a Grand Prix Final with Greg, series leader Jason Crump, Leigh Adams, and Hans Andersen. Leigh made the start but Greg quickly passed him on the outside down the back straight to take the lead and the win. In the final, Tomasz winner of the first semi, choose the yellow outside gate giving Greg who had second choice the red inside gate with Jason in the blue gate and Kenneth Bjerre in white. When the tapes went up, it was Greg would make the start and led wire to wire for his first Grand Prix victory in 10 Grand Prix’.
Greg, who turned 39 in June, is one of the oldest winner of a Grand Prix. Greg said, “That it was a full team effort in the victory. We made some slight changes to the bike after my first heat and got the set up nearly perfect for the track conditions. From there it was up to me and I was not about to lose this one after so many close ones”.

With the victory in Daugavpils, Greg has moved in to 2nd place in the overall standings 29 points adrift of Jason. With 5 more Grand Prix left and lots of points to win, I am going to battle to the end, said Greg.
